Dear expert(s), I have a Chevrolet Trans Sport from 2001, with 220.000 km on the clock.
More than a year ago the following problem occurred and became more and more intense.
Sometimes when the car accelerates from zero it trots (dribbles) shortly for the first meters.
Also the automatic gearbox switches with a bump at every gearshift and a whooping sound is heard and gets annoying above a speed of approximately 100 km/hour.
In the beginning the problem was solved by stopping the car, switching of the ignition and restart it again. The whooping sound could also be stopped by switching the gearbox to manual mode into 3e shift at a normal speed.
Also the motor management / maintenance signal on the dashboard lights up.
At the moment the problem is often present, but not always.
The filter kit, MAF sensor and G3 oil from the gearbox has been replaced, but the problem is still not solved.
The garage strongly believes the ignition system is causing the problems due to bad sparkplugs and/or damaged spark plug cables. Also a failure code is pointing out to an ignition problem.
A leaking current and external high peak voltages may trouble the electronic control system (can-bus) of the motor management and the electronic control of the gearbox, so the garage explains to me.
The question is, before I start spending more money on the car, if this really could solve the problem.
I myself have some difficulties in believing this argumentation.
Who can help me out with this problem?
Kind regards,
Hans
Niet gevonden wat je zocht? Misschien is je vraag al eens beantwoord voor je Chevrolet US Trans Sport of stel zelf een nieuwe vraag.
Since you have not entered your residence, i have no clue if your car is somewhere in The Netherlands or in another part of the world.
Maar ff zoeken op je e-mail adres levert camstra.net op en die komt vanuit nederland, dus of iemand neemt mij in de maling,of ik heb het heel erg fout Hans W. (Don't piss me off or you're gone here)
At first i would like to have the number of the failure code. Your garage has got it, and by that number i can sort out which problem is making your check engine light to come on.
The problem with the transmission due to a problem with the ignition i strongly doubt. I rather think your overdriveaxle in the transmission, which shifts in and out (the famous cookiecutter) is causing this problem, if you're constantly driving in 3rd instead of driving in D , is the problem still occuring? And did your garage find a lot of metal chips in the transmissions pan when they changed the fluid? and did they also replace the filter in the transmission?
Why haven't they changed the sparkplugs and the cables?
Strange but i think your garage is guessing and they do not hav much knowledge of your car.
Well, answer my questions and i will try to help you solve your problem, but i am affraid that your tranny "is going down south"
With regards
