Bouwjaar: 2007, Brandstof: Benzine, Motorcode: 2.5si
Het lampje op mijn dashboard wat aangeeft dat er een lamp stuk zou zijn brandt, ik kon eerst niet vinden welke lamp er dan stuk zou zijn, het blijkt het mistachterlicht te zijn. In het instructieboekje staat dat ik hiermee naar de BMW dealer moet.
Is dit niet zelf te vervangen? en zo ja hoe?

Zo slim was ik zelf ook wel Hans , maar de unit zit in de achterklep ingebouwd , de vraag is moet ik de bekleding achter verwijderen of kan ik er van buitenaf bij
Ik zie geen schroefjes of iets dergelijks. het glas lijkt er wel op geklikt te zitten.
Voorzichtig met een schroevendraaier geprobeerd, maar dat lukte niet ik wil het ook niet forceren en het glas verknoeien.

Gezocht in Google op 'e83 rear fog bulb replacement' eerste link is meteen raak, hopelijk kan je Engels lezen?

It can be done, but it's not easy. But knowing what the BMW dealers charge, it's worth it. Remember though, there is only one fog lamp bulb in the UK/Euro X3, not two.
Anyhow, you have to remove the rear hatch trim which is held on by a couple of screws and a load of panel clips. I'd recommend taking the top and side trims off first, these just pull off and have friction clips (top) or panel clips (side). That will make it easier to locate the main panel when you re-attach, otherwise it's a pain to locate each side and all the clips.
When you have removed the three trim bits, then pop out the hatch lamp and unplug. Set aside. Unscrew the 2 philips screws one in each of the 'handles'. Then remove the plastic trim/cover from the hatch locking piece otherwise it will just fall off and possibly break.
Then basically you just carefully pull the panel off. Start at the top near the rear screen and you should hear the clips pop. Once it's off, you can get at the fog bulb.
Refitting is the reverse, but make sure all the white panel clips are correctly attached to the rear panel, and try to align them with the holes. They require quite a sharp push/thump to locate them and for them to 'latch'.
This is all written from memory when I changed over my rear lamps to Blackline, but I don't think I've missed anything. Just be careful with the panel clips. It's always worth having a few in as the 'spike' bit that goes into the body hole can be a bit fragile/brittle.

Het is gewoon een kwestie van kijken hoe iets vastzit...als je niet direct toegang hebt tot de achterlicht unit, dan zal de bekleding opzij moeten, ja...
(hoef je niet echt slim voor te zijn..)
Je maakt mij niet wijs dat de fabrikant het zo moeilijk heeft gemaakt dat je hiervoor naar een dealer moet.

Er moet een H21W halogeen lampje in met bajonet fitting. Zoals bij alle halogeen lampjes bestaat het uit kwartsglas wat niet met de handen mag worden aangeraakt (anders kan je weer heel snel een nieuwe erin doen)
